2012 年的夏季，英國倫敦成為史上第一座三度舉辦奧運的城市，環球音樂取得倫敦奧運官方授權，與英國奧委會合作搖滾精選特輯【great british winner – a celebration of british songs and songwriters】，挑選 1960 年代至 21 世紀第一個世代之間，來自英格蘭、威爾斯、蘇格蘭的搖滾巨星與搖滾大團的代表作，以享譽全球的英式搖滾經典來為參加此項國際運動盛會的 550 位英國選手搖旗吶喊。
