提及藍調音樂就會聯想到傳奇大師、高齡85 歲的b.b. king，他對音樂的熱情、拿手的藍調吉他精湛絕技，依然魅力不減地受到全球樂迷的景仰與崇敬。入選滾石雜誌「史上經典吉他手」第3 名，累積榮獲15 座葛萊美獎肯定，並於1987 年得到葛萊美「終身成就獎」加冕以及成為「搖滾名人殿堂」的終身會員，也是美國「國家藝術獎章」、「總統自由獎章」得主。
原名riley b. king 的b.b. king，在擔任電台dj 時暱稱beale street blues boy，後來直接以blues boy自居，縮寫b.b.。不僅是作嫁於其他藝人的作品大受好評，自己的歌曲更是不遑多讓，自1951 年到1985 年間，在billboard 的節奏藍調榜上出現74 次之多。歷經1980、1990、2000 年代的洗禮，跨越領域的參與電視演出，連挑剔的影評也大加讚譽。1988 年與經典樂團u2 合作“when love comes to town”，和吉他之神eric clapton 聯合出手的特輯，都是樂迷們津津樂道的寶典。
