連續4年於日本各大巨蛋舉行演唱會的shinee，今年也以「shinee world the best 2018～from now on～」演唱會完美落幕。其首張日文精選「shinee the best from now on」，為shinee日本活動集大成，全員參與錄音之新曲「from now on」也收錄其中，台壓發行完全初回生産限定盤b版本，更加收bonus disc2與特典dvd。
最特別的是專輯中收錄的新曲「from now on」由管弦樂及鋼琴與歌聲構成，shinee 5位成員個每一位的歌聲與氣息，感覺宛如在面前演唱般的最強抒情曲，「把所有的愛全都獻給你 無盡的感謝也全都給你」的歌詞中，傳達迄今為止的感謝之意，同時蘊含從今往後也將一同攜手向前邁進的寓意；今年2月於京瓷巨蛋演唱會上，作為二次安可首次表演此首歌曲， 立刻掀起一波波話題與強烈回響，於twitter轉推數量進入billboard japan hot 100、拿下billboard japan hot buzz song top10寶座，為發行前便拿下多項紀錄的話題新曲。
bonus disc2收錄5位成員錄音新曲「every time」、「tell me your name」2首新曲、在此之前從未音源化的「married to the music」日文版本與特別重製編曲6首總共8首歌曲；特典dvd的97分鐘，更首次影像化「documentary of shinee world 2017～five～」演唱會精華影像、舞台幕後花絮紀錄等珍貴影像。台壓盤並附中文字幕。
