從玩樂主義的搖滾派對歌"i want you"，充滿世界音樂勁道的"can't breathe"，描述肆無忌憚的情感大反擊的"you bitch"，到簡單彈唱的心情搖滾小品"in your touch"，加拿大創作型搖滾才女fefe dobson 在2010 年專輯【joy】中，自由自在的揮灑流行搖滾樂的愉悅快感。
dobson 在2004 年獲邀擔任justin timberlake 歐洲巡迴演唱會的開場嘉賓，然後擔任時尚品牌tommy hilfiger 的廣告代言，她在2005 年以首張專輯【fefe dobson】獲得加拿大朱諾音樂獎年度流行專輯與新進藝人兩項提名。dobson 在2004 年與cyndi lauper、joan jett、courtney love 合作專輯【sunday love】，儘管此張專輯未曾發行，不過，專輯裡頭的許多歌曲都頗受青睞，像是迪士尼新世代歌手selena gomez 選錄了"as a blonde"，台灣樂團s.h.e. 則是將"this is my life" 翻唱成"我愛煩惱"。
【sunday love】專輯的取消發行並未澆熄 fefe dobson 對音樂創作的熱情，她在 2010 年歲末發表全新創作專輯【joy】，邀集 bob ezrin[*pink floyd 專輯「the wall」]、howard benson[*my chemical romance]、j. r. rotem[*rihanna]、kevin rudolf[*2008 年與 lil wayne 合作 top5 暢銷曲"let it rock"]、david lichens[*曾是 petra樂團成員]…等製作菁英共同合作。專輯中的多首歌曲都成了全美青少年首選電視頻道 cw 影集插曲，像是「噬血y世代」、「90210」等影集選用 "i want you"，「hellcats」影集選用 "i want you"、"ghost"等歌曲，還邀請 dobson 在該影集中獻唱晉升加拿大流行單曲榜第 12 名的 "stuttering"。此外，值得一提的是 “can't breathe” 當中的吉他演奏，是出自流行天王麥可傑克森演唱會「this is it」欽點主奏吉他手，曾與 steve vai、carlos santana、eric clapton 等大師交手過的天才女吉他手 orianthi。
