ray 就讀藝術學院期間，就已經替the kinks 未來音樂旅程鋪路。1964 年推出首張專輯【kinks】，一舉拿下英國季軍，更敲開美國大門，登記top29。其中招牌曲“you really got me”，入籍滾石雜誌「史上500 首經典歌曲」「史上百大經典吉他歌曲」、bbc radio 票選「1955-1965 年間最佳英倫歌曲」、q 雜誌「百首偉大吉他曲目」、vh1 頻道「偉大的硬式搖滾歌曲」名單。1964-1996 年間，ray 撰構出the kinks 的風光史記。1985 年單飛推出個人大碟，持續締造不凡佳績。
馳騁歌壇近50 年，ray 結交不少好友，此回發行【see my friends】大碟，不僅重新詮釋the kinks 時期暢銷歌曲，更聚集10 餘組a 咖藝人幫腔，精彩可期！開場的“ better things”，與20 座葛萊美獎得主/工人皇帝bruce springsteen 互飆，百分百過癮；搖滾天團bon jovi 核心主唱jon bon jovi 與吉他手richie sambora 助陣於“celluloid heroes”，編入邦喬飛式情歌橋段；有女bob dylan 美譽的才氣歌手lucinda williams，貢獻迷人嗓音於“long way from home”，份外動聽；改以猛爆線條穿繞的“you really got me”，特別情商拿下六屆「最佳金屬演出」、再造金屬王朝的唯一救世主metallica 狂烈翻玩；影歌雙棲新星paloma faith 替“lola” 刻劃細膩藍調靈魂聲線；輕愉acoustic的“waterloo sunset”，則有南加州桂冠詩人jackson brown e加持；還有吉他創作才女amy macdonald、美國另類搖滾先鋒the pixies 主唱/創作靈魂black francis、smashing pumpkins/zwan 雙團主唱billy corgan…皆前來站台。
